About Afghanistan Cricket Board
The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) serves as the exclusive and autonomous authority responsible for overseeing, organizing, and promoting cricket—both men's and women's—throughout Afghanistan. Cricket was formally introduced in the country in 1995. The ACB became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2001, followed by associate membership in the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in 2003, and was elevated to full ICC membership in June 2017. Today, Afghanistan’s national teams compete among the world’s top ten cricketing nations.
Job Summary
The Admin Officer plays a key role in supporting the operations of the Selection Department by handling communications, keeping records well-organized, coordinating with scorer teams, and assisting with data management tasks. This position is vital to ensuring smooth departmental workflow and providing the Selection Committee with accurate and timely information for effective decision-making.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Communication and Coordination
- Draft and manage official communications—including emails, memos, and reports—for the Cricket Selection Department, under the direction of the Head of Selection.
- Liaise regularly with the ACB scorer team to gather and relay player performance data and selection-related information.
- Maintain clear, timely, and professional communication with both internal departments and external stakeholders on cricket-related matters.
Data Management
- Conduct routine data cleaning to ensure cricket performance data is accurate, consistent, and complete across all formats and competitions.
- Perform both basic and advanced data analysis to support evidence-based decision-making by the Selection Committee.
- Assist in the development of periodic reports and presentations that summarize cricket performance insights for committee evaluation.
Administrative Support
- Maintain organized hard-copy and digital filing systems for player assessments, match reports, selection documentation, and related materials.
- Coordinate meeting schedules, take accurate minutes, and track follow-up actions for the Cricket Selection Department.
- Provide logistical support for selection trials, committee travel, and scouting activities as required.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in administrative or data-focused roles, preferably within a cricket-related environment.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong advantage if experienced with data analysis tools, particularly advanced Excel functions or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with cricket data, including statistics, formats, scorecards, and performance metrics.
Soft Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Dari, and Pashto.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
